Last year’s retreat was a big success and also a big lesson for Sylvia. She understood the importance of creating a space, not just to practice & learn yoga but also to indulge in self care, in community & have a really fun time. As adults we forget often how much medicine there is in joy and laughter.

This retreat is filled with fun, sweaty & exciting morning + afternoon yoga sessions, delicious ayurvedic meals, visits to pristine beaches, the transformational Janzu Water Therapy, Embodiment practices & Shamanic rituals- all in the magical island of Vieques, PR!

Come experience the beauty of synching your breath with a group of 30 individuals all moving as one in a yoga sequence you have never experienced before to the melodies of Shamanic live music!

All Packages Include

  • Private or shared accommodation in one of our beautiful units. They all count with AC, outdoor showers, stunning views of our gardens, beach cooler, comfortable bedding & so much more!

  • Sylvia has designed a new yoga sequence with her staple moves and transitions. To facilitate the process of learning the sequence throughout the retreat, Sylvia has created a pamphlet with step-by-step guide of her “Hero” sequence together with imagery, tips and the precise process of sinking each breath with the movements. This pamphlet will not only be helpful to learn the sequence but it will be a useful tool to take home to continue practicing on your own.

  • The Fire Ceremony offers a space to let go of what no longer serves you, and embrace new intentions. As the flames dance, you'll find a sense of unity and renewal— fostering a deeper connection with yourself and your fellow retreat attendees. This ceremony promises to be a powerful and memorable aspect of your retreat journey.

  • These are the epic 2 1/2 hour yoga sequences created by Sylvia De Marco. Fun, exciting & deep yoga flow you've never experienced before! All participants breath & move together to groovy shamanic tunes creating a powerful atmosphere. Classes take place on our Yoga Shala called the Maloka. You'll be in the open air with incredible views to the jungle & the ocean.

  • During the serene savasana and our final collective sequence, Kano Mai's ethereal tunes will envelop you— creating a harmonious atmosphere of tranquility and reflection.

  • These lectures are thoughtfully designed to dive into specific aspects of your practice— providing insights, techniques, and a deeper understanding. We are collaborating with Vicky Cooley who will bring her wisdom with adjustment during some practices and an adjustment workshop.

  • Within this practices we explore the spaces in our subconscious, we meet our god form, we engage with our guides, we play in new spaces. This all unleashes stagnant energies and blockages that give us new spaces in our bodies & minds to grow and expand. To welcome a new way to live and think.

  • We all come together in the moonlight to our Sacred Maloka to embark on a personal, transformational journey. Each participant will have a designated comfortable bed. Everyone is welcome to participate, whether drinking the medicine itself or not. This ceremony is led by our guide Kano Mai from the Shipibo Lineage. Get ready to receive a live and sacred concert while going deep within & connecting to the divine.

  • Following our sacred ceremony, we will come together in a sharing circle— fostering a space of connection and reflection. This circle offers an opportunity for each participant to share their thoughts, insights, and experiences from the ceremony— creating a supportive and open-hearted atmosphere. Themed Dinners: One of last year's highlights were the themed dinners. The idea came last minute as I was creating the menu. It ended up being one of the highlights of the retreat. So we are going all out this year! We have new themes to explore and a new wonderful menu to taste!

  • Our nightly dinners will each have an epic theme that you are encouraged to integrate in your wardrobe. They will be tailored with playlists with the cultural cuisine of the night. Last year we explored: arabic, mexican, indian & italian dinners which ended up being incredible fun which created a playful ground for our participants to tap into joy & creativity.

  • Each participant will have a Dinacharya Kit ! This includes a morning routine that will kickstart their day!

A sequence performed in the morning to aid in detoxification of the body and mind. It nourishes and rejuvenates the tissues and organ systems. Morning routines are a practice of self-love and alone-time with oneself which develops immense benefits— including self-awareness and mindfulness. Some of the Ayurvedic morning routines areas follows:

Tongue scraping: to detoxify the lymphatic system

Mouth swish with medicated oil: to nourish the gums, teeth, and tongue, and decrease congestion in the chest, face, and throat

Herbal eye wash: to improve sight and activate the intuitive capabilities of the body

Nasya: a procedure of applying medicated oil through the nose to lubricate the nasal passageways, to decrease sinus blockages and allergies, and to nourish the facial cavities. This will additionally decrease headaches and neck pain, and will improve pituitary gland actions that control a large amount of hormone production in the endocrine system

Herb mix: a custom blend of herbs will be taken in the morning and night to support cleansing of the colon and to activation of the metabolism

Yoga sequence with Sylvia + Final Performance Piece

Last year I created a fiery yoga sequence which we practiced and learned throughout the retreat.

As I have continued to share the practice during the year, a new sequence has emerged. It includes a very grounding Hanuman sequence to open and strengthen the hips. The Scandassana Animal Flow has been developing too and a very Poetic Balancing Sequence has arisen- I can't wait to share!

There are new mobility drills which I have been integrating with a Kriya essence that will build intelligence in hip movements and allow more range of motion in the hip and shoulder joints. Hip mobility creates systematic freedom of the body, which at the same time opens a lot of clarity and space in the mind.

We will also strengthen the core with exercises beyond your regular sit-ups and ab-work. This practice entails smarter combinations of movements that create stronger day-to-day activities in your life.

Among the many physical, mental and spiritual benefits of yoga, there is the aspect of moving in synchronicity with others, synching our breath together and aligning our energies collectively.

Our bodies, their dimensions and measurements are perfectly put together by our creator. As we move into yoga asanas we create shapes, we reorganize our bodies, heal and also ground. We learn and connect with our bodies, organs and breathing patterns.  When we start curating a flow in which we move from one asana to the other, we start paying attention to how we transition. As we weave our practice together, we create sacred geometry by moving and drawing energetic lines. Together with breath and intentions, these energetic lines can be visualized as the beautiful shapes that build the energetic grid that unites us all. It is with this intention that I have carefully tailored a sequence which, in the course of 7 days, we will learn together. By the last day we can all practice without me directing you, and instead coming together with the intention to weave a beautiful pattern of sacred geometry as we practice in a mandala shape, supported by the powerful medicinal music by Kano Mai.

This year we are collaborating with Vicky Cooley who will bring her wisdom with adjustments during some practices through an Adjustment Workshop.

Practices led by Kano Mai

Last year, my partner, Kano, brought his powerful medicine into the mix. One of them was the incredible Sacred Ceremony to close the retreat, and also a really powerful embodiment practice. For this upcoming retreat we have created an amazing program together that goes hand-in-hand with yoga, Kundalini fundamentals and Shamanic exercises that will bring us fully into our bodies. These practices will fuel your life force as well as expand your consciousness.

The practices led by Kano will include:

  • Opening Fire Ceremony along with group dynamics to connect us to each other

  • The "God form"  breathwork embodiment practic

  • 1 Sacred Ceremony

Practices are put together with amazing music, shakti shakes to get out of our minds and into our bodies, breath work and visualizations. They are a whole journey! Within these practices we explore the spaces in our subconscious, we meet our God form, we engage with our guides- we play in new spaces. This all unleashes stagnant energies and blockages that allows new space in our bodies & minds to grow and expand.  This allows us to welcome a new way to live and think.

The Sacred Ceremony, that will take place towards the end of the retreat to seal our efforts, brings the group together with our individual intentions and also with a collective intention which we will create during our retreat. Kano Mai will be guiding us and holding space for us in this special and powerful journey. Whether you are drinking the beverage or not, the ceremony space is the medicine itself which is composed by the music and medicine chants, the set up, and the sacred space that is created with integrity and intention by the Curandero and the group. There will be a ceremonial bed for each participant to journey.

Janzu Aquatic Therapy

In this movement retreat, water dance can’t be left behind! We are including 1 hour session to each participant. Along with open slots for add on sessions if you wish to continue exploring this therapy. Our facilitators are experts in the field that will take care for you the whole time. We know the combination of this treatment along with Shamanic rituals is a potent medicine!!

  • It is a water therapy session in which a series of movements and manipulations are woven together to deeply relax the participant and direct the mind into a meditative state. As the participant practices controlled release together with synchronized breathing, the subject reconnects deeply with an essential part of their being. The relationship built with the water transforms them, and becomes a part of the participant forever.

We aim to awaken a new way to flow, release, and trust. In many cases, participants describe visions of the womb, the interconnection of all beings, and soothing sensations of existence and peace. Our pineal gland awakens— providing insight to help us release information from the secret depths within us.

The water is a beautiful, powerful teacher. An experienced facilitator of the medicine of water will provide this therapy.

OUR CENTER & THE ISLAND

Nestled on a hillside with refreshing cross-ventilation, our center offers a tranquil retreat surrounded by lush vegetation and the soothing melodies of native Coqui frogs. Situated atop one of the island's highest vantage points, we enjoy breathtaking views of sunrises and sunsets. This island boasts minimal light pollution— creating an ideal setting for stargazing. On clear nights, even the Milky Way graces our skies— adding to the awe-inspiring experience.

Spanning three acres, Finca Victoria encompasses a variety of architectural structures seamlessly integrated into the lush vegetation. The land is teeming with fertility— showcasing an array of tropical plants, fruit-bearing trees, blossoms, and cacti.

Vieques— a unique island embraced by the Caribbean Sea— boasts abundant vegetation, year-round warmth, and a surreal landscape accentuated by a population of 2,000 free-roaming horses. This special enclave is a part of Puerto Rico, and is accessible via the ferry or swift “island-hopper” planes.

COMMUNAL AREAS

Boutique Shop

The boutique store is located in the hotel’s central structure. It carries fine jewelry from local designers such as Mic Urban. We have a beautiful section of unique clothing and accessories sourced in Puerto Rico, as well as in other parts of the world, by Sylvia De Marco. These include kaftans, summer clothing, our own Finca Victoria tees, and so much more!

A part of our store has been dedicated to outsourcing artisans that create wonderful natural products such as cold-pressed soaps, skincare lines, reef-safe sunblock, scrubs, and a variety of floral, smoking blends.

The Pavilion & Pool

The heart of the hotel is our exclusive Pavilion. It is a large open structure overlooking trees and our sweet water pool. Here you will find numerous lounging areas and a work space with excellent WiFi. Complimentary homemade teas and coffee are available 24/7. The Pavilion opens to our sweet water pool and its zen tanning areas surrounded by tropical flowers, palm trees, and other lush, native vegetation. Your host can be found here, and is available to assist you from 9:00am-5:00pm.

Our Gardens

Perched amidst the central mountains of the island, Finca Victoria enjoys a more tropical climate and cooler temperatures than other parts of the island. Within this mini ecosystem, a variety of indigenous and fruit-bearing trees, tropical blooms, and charming inhabitants— like the coqui frogs— thrive.

In addition, you’ll find our herb gardens which serve as the source of ingredients for our teas, culinary creations, and spa's herbal treatments. We extend a warm invitation to our guests to embark on journeys through these enchanting gardens that grace every corner of our property.

Beaches in Vieques

The beaches of Vieques offer an exquisite blend of natural beauty and tranquility. With powder-soft sands and crystal-clear waters, each beach has its own unique charm. From the bioluminescent wonder of Mosquito Bay, to the secluded coves surrounded by lush foliage, Vieques' beaches promise a serene escape. Whether you seek vibrant snorkeling spots, peaceful sunbathing havens, or the chance to witness the island's wild horses against a coastal backdrop, Vieques' beaches invite you to immerse yourself in their captivating allure.

The Maloka

The Maloka— with its stunning ocean view— is our newest structure. This area is dedicated to our daily yoga practice and serves as a gathering place. It also holds a profound spiritual significance as the sacred space where we conduct our most cherished ceremonies. Within its sheltering walls, we gather to honor ancient traditions, celebrate milestones, and connect with the deeper rhythms of existence. The Maloka's ambiance— coupled with its panoramic view of the ocean— enhances the sense of reverence and connection during these transformative moments.

Meet the Facilitators

  • Founder of Finca Victoria + Ayurvedic Consultant + Yoga Teacher

Her passion was crafting unique experiences that made others feel the importance of wellness. In one way or another, she had been preparing for this her entire life. She had changed careers and interests a few times. She loved everything from her past, but not one thing would fully satisfy her. She went to art school, later trained and worked as a sommelier, and after some incredible twists and turns, she made it into the movie industry designing movie sets. This led her to restaurant design and, eventually, to her first hotel.

She saw how everything she had explored and done in her life was a key element in what she did then. She was finally and completely fulfilled by what she did next— creating experiences to remind and connect others with the inherent joy in everyday living.

When she started her journey in Ayurveda, she had no idea what life had in store for her. As she dove into Ayurvedic practices, she had a constant feeling of remembering. The body and soul remembered their natural state of ease and flow. Through Ayurveda, she discovered that finding joy and harmony in the modern existence was a lot easier than she had thought. She simply had to go back to basics. Ayurveda and its yoga practices were one with nature and its natural processes and cycles.

One of her biggest joys was sharing her yoga practice with others. For her, yoga was the practice of connecting with the body, and from that deep connection, she could further connect to her spirituality. Yoga was a tool of embodiment and a space to integrate life with all its experiences— the beauty and sorrow, and all the ups and downs. It was an honor for her to guide others into this practice, and into inhabiting their bodies with intention and awareness.

  • Professional Musician + Transformational Coach + Shamanic Practitioner + Men’s Work Facilitator

Kano is a professional musician, a transformational coach, a shamanic practitioner, and a mens' work facilitator. He has many musical endeavors under his belt, and began a massive life transition through addiction recovery. Kano has studied extensively in the Amazon jungles of Peru with Indigenous healers— learning and teaching the ancient ways of sacred ceremonial work, and developing healing music inspired by different tribes and traditions. He has passion not only for his own personal growth, but also for helping others achieve their true potential, and guiding those who are ready to a deeper connection with their authentic selves.

"Choosing to walk the healing path is hard to do— maybe the hardest to do. For me, it started after bottoming out with drugs and alcohol addiction. Through years of rehab in western institutions, and with the help of ancient traditions, I healed my pain and found my life mission to help others heal theirs. Sometimes the road can get very dark. I’ve learned that drawing on our friends, teachers, and spirit allies is how we come through it and find the light. My mission is to serve humanity’s spiritual evolution through coaching, embodiment, ceremony, and music.”
